BANGALORE: Magma Design Automation India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Magma Design Automation Inc. (NASDAQ:LAVA), has partnered Anna University, as part of its initiative to increase the number of professionals exposed to state of the art IC implementation tools.

The partnership has since yielded spectacular results with the students of ECE Department of The College of Engineering having successfully tape out a general-purpose CDMA receiver IC.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Anand Anandkumar, Managing Director, Magma Design Automation India said, “With semiconductor industry entering an exciting new growth phase in India, our talent generation initiative not only becomes imperative but crucial as well. The successful completion of the chip in such a short period is testament to both the quality of the talent available in Indian universities as well the phenomenal Turn-Around-Time achievable by using Magma tools. Training our engineers on the most advanced EDA tools will go a long way in bridging the talent gap currently witnessed in the India Semiconductor scene.”
