MOTOFONE debuts in India

New Delhi: Motorola Inc. announced the global debut of its highly anticipated MOTOFONE in India. The Indian consumers have are going to be first to use this game-changing handset, with the potential to redefine the mobile phone market. MOTOFONE is based on Motorola's evolutionary new SCPL design platform and belongs to a new breed of handsets. It is Motorola's thinnest phone yet, measuring in at approximately 9mm. Motorola also offering voice prompts in local languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali. The GSM version, MOTOFONE F3, is available today through service providers including BSNL, Airtel and Idea. Motorola is working towards shipping the CDMA version, MOTOFONE F3c, by the end of 2006.
