Lenovo, Swedish co build first eye-controlled laptop

Bangalore: Lenovo has partnered with a Swedish company called Tobii to build what is the world's first eye-controlled laptop. The product prototype was showcased at the ongoing CeBIT fair in Hanover, Germany. The laptop works on the user's gaze who just has to stare at a particular part of the screen to view the content there. The eye-controlled laptop prototype is instinctive to figure out the user is away from the system or not. It dims the monitor of the device when it senses the user is away and brightens when the user gets back to the system. The prototype exhibited at the fair is larger in size than a regular laptop for it to accommodate the large sensor. However, the laptop makers are hopeful that both size and cost of the product can be brought down in the next two years. Presently, only 10 prototypes have been made that can work in a real environment. There has been no official announcement on the launch date of the actual product.
