Kochi: MindParlour LLC, a leading player in human resource services in the Middle East, has announced ambitious plans to set up a chain of finishing schools in India. Speaking to reporters here Tuesday, C.K. Sharma, chief resource officer, MindParlour LLC, said the company is looking at setting up IT finishing schools in all Indian metros and tier-2 cities like Kochi, Coimbatore and Hyderabad. "Our first finishing school in Kochi will be ready to train students by January 2008. We have been approached by IT firms, universities and colleges within the short time we started ground operations here," said Sharma. Starting its operations in the Dubai Knowledge Village in 2003, MindParlour is today a renowned brand in behavioural skill training. The company works with giants like Nestle, Sony, Hitachi, Kenya Airways, National Bank of Dubai, Dubai Tourism, Jumeirah International Group, ARN Group, Consolidated Shipping and Al Futtain Group of Kuwait. The National Association of Software and Services Companies' (Nasscom) recent report on employment trends in the country indicates that IT software and services employment opportunities will touch 1.6 million in the current fiscal. Surveys conducted in India to ascertain concerns of the industry indicate that poor communication skills, inadequate domain knowledge and inadequate workplace skills are the top three concerns of IT recruiters. MindParlour intends to address these concerns. "We are looking at training 1,000 highly employable IT graduates from the Kochi centre in the first year itself. Our target is to train 20,000 IT graduates by 2010. Kochi will get the first full-fledged independent finishing school campus by 2009 at an investment of around 150 million," said Sharma.
