Lason India to add 1,600 jobs in India

MUMBAI: Lason India announced that they are planning to add 1,600 jobs in India within the next ten months to support its growing business. Apart from this, the company intends investing $1.5 million during 2006. Troy-based Lason Inc., offers contracted business-processing services such as mail processing, document scanning, file conversion, microfilming, data capture and Web-based document and imaging services. The Indian operations contributed between 20 and 25 percent of the company's global BPO revenue of $150 million, Lason’s President and CEO, Ronald Risher said, adding that the BPO business of Lason was slated to grow by 25 to 30 per cent during 2006. He said, “At present Lason India has the total headcount of 6,600 personals. And we are going to added another 1,600 people.” This is to expand its presence in Indian with existing customers and also into new markets such as health care and financial services. Besides this, Lason is also planning s to open three centers in North America.
