Kapany co-Founded K2 Optronics Secures $6.4M

SUNNYVALE, CA: K2 Optronics Inc., a provider of lasers for the telecommunications, cable television, sensing and test and measurement industries, said it has secured $6.4 million in a first close of its third round of venture capital financing.
Headquartered in Sunnyvale, K2 Optronics is focused on designing, developing and manufacturing analog and digital transmission lasers for the cable television, telecommunications, sensing, and test and measurement industries.
K2 Optronics was the first company to commercialize the concept of external cavity lasers (ECLs) into industry standard 14 pin butterfly packages.
