Journey of Young Indian Entrepreneurs from Trichy to White House


They always wanted to make the process of recruitment simpler. Vivek and Hari eventually left their jobs in 2009 and started working on the project. Being a part of Batch3 at the Morpheus, their company became the first Indian startup to get incubated at Y-Combinator, one of the top incubation centers around the world.

“The path has been arduous and highly rewarding at the same time,” says Vivek recalling the days when InterviewStreet was still under production. They started developing the product soon after leaving their jobs and worked meticulously for hours and days in Hari’s basement. The two locked themselves in a room for 10 days before launching InterviewStreet. “Yes, we worked out of Hari’s basement and didn’t get out until the product was in a workable state,” Vivek told YourStory.in.

 “We did not compete with anybody to get this project; a lot of programmers in the US use our technology platform, so we were contacted. We never expected to get a project of this sort. We are really excited. It will help us tap markets such as the US and Europe,” Harishankaran told Times of India, who is all set to take the White House podium.
