Jerry Rao resigns from EDS Asia Pacific Advisory Board

Bangalore: Jaithirth (Jerry) Rao, Chairman, EDS Asia Pacific Advisory Board, and founder of MphasiS, has decided to resign from the Company. Jerry was Chairman and Managing Director of MphasiS from 2001 to 2006. After integration of EDS with MphasiS, he continued as non-executive Chairman of the Board till early 2008. He also led EDS' operations in India as Vice President from 2006. "Jerry Rao is a visionary and laid a strong foundation for the growth of MphasiS. He played a pivotal role in the integration of the EDS and MphasiS and has been instrumental in enabling clients leverage this combined strength. Jerry has decided to move on from the company to pursue his personal interests," said Michael Coomer, Chairman of MphasiS and Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan Global Financial Services Industry, EDS. "As an entrepreneur my experience of building MphasiS was unique and I will cherish those memories. MphasiS continues to grow from strength to strength with EDS as its parent Company, the passion and vision of its leadership team as well as the dedication of its employees. I am looking forward to more time now to pursue my personal interests," said Jerry Rao. Prior to founding MphasiS, Jerry was with Citigroup, where he built and developed Citibank's Consumer businesses as the Country/Regional Manager in India, Middle East, Eastern Europe and UK. He earlier headed Citibank's Global Technology Development Division. Jerry is on the Boards of IDFC Private Equity , Royal Orchids Hotels , Lotus India AMC, Purvankara Projects, Kandor Solutions, Sankhyaa (UK), JuriMatrix (Clutch Group)and VA Tech Wabag. He is an Advisor to NEA, Kandor Soultions, Basil Communications and Fuel Automation India. He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NASSCOM Foundation and a Trustee of Sujaya Foundation, India Foundation for the Arts, Planet Finance India and the Mathematical Sciences Foundation.
