HYDERABAD: JP MobileÒ, a leading provider of enterprise mobility software and the parent of JP Mobile India Limited, today announced it has signed an agreement to immediately acquire the PDA Defense product from Asynchrony Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of collaboration, communication, and security solutions. JP Mobile will re-brand the product as SureWaveÒ Mobile Defense. This acquisition positions the SureWave Mobile Defense product as the industry standard in Mobile Device data security and provides multi-layered security for Microsoft Windows Mobile, Palm, Symbian and Research In Motion (RIM) devices. The integration of the PDA Defense stand alone security solution with JP Mobile’s SureWave Enterprise Server results in a solution where data is encrypted on transmission and on device, creating a fully ‘Integrated Mobile Device Security’ solution. This positions JP Mobile as currently the only company that provides Push Email/PIM solutions that also provide end-to-end security where all data, including authentication data such as user names, passwords, etc. are encrypted. “Asynchrony Solutions had several appealing suitors for the PDA Defense product,” said Robert Elfanbaum, CEO of Asynchrony Solutions. “However none more attractive than JP Mobile, whose complementary product line and interest in accelerating the development and marketing of PDA Defense will bring tangible benefits to the PDA Defense product and customers. Since they were already integrating the product as an OEM vendor, we are far down the road related to integration of the two companies’ products.” “JP Mobile continues to look at strategic acquisitions that compliment our SureWave Enterprise Mobility platform that also meet the enterprise needs,” said Dayakar Puskoor, CEO of JP Mobile. The product acquisition provides JP Mobile with very appealing opportunities for growth. “JP Mobile not only acquires the PDA Defense product from Asynchrony Solutions, but we also secure an extensive list of customers and partners currently using the product,” said Puskoor. “This move immediately expands JP Mobile’s footprint in the market and further strengthens our position as a leader in the industry.” A recent report from The 451Group (www.jpmobile.com/the451/devicesecurity.asp) explores how the recent acquisition allows JP Mobile to remove the need for an enterprise to concern itself with implementing a device-side security product. JP Mobile will be launching three new editions of the SureWave Mobile Defense product all of which will have the core PDA Defense device security features.
