SANTA CLARA: Intoto Inc., a leading provider of integrated security, wireless and voice software platforms to networking equipment manufacturers, today announced the iGateway EX product family, the industry’s highest performance integrated software platforms for Small-to-Medium Enterprise (SME) and enterprise secure gateway applications. These platforms are the latest addition to Intoto’s iGateway product family that offers complete system-level software platform solutions with integrated security, voice, and wireless technologies for advanced enterprise-class networking capabilities.

“Enterprise gateways require high-performance security and routing features that support business-class applications such as server hosting, video-conferencing, and sophisticated routing schemes,” said Jeff Wilson, senior analyst with Infonetics Research. “Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are often challenged to produce these types of next-generation broadband equipment within timeframes that are too difficult to meet with internal resources. Full-service software makers like Intoto enable them to keep pace with technological innovation and convergence by supplying completely integrated software platforms.”

The primary challenge before networking OEMs building enterprise-class secure gateways is to quickly deliver cost-effective devices that support new and emerging applications with minimum management and maintenance. With Intoto’s iGateway EX software platforms, OEMs can leverage Intoto’s 150-plus person development team for integrated high-performance software platforms that provide all of the latest features and certifications their enterprise customers are demanding. More importantly, Intoto’s iGatewayEX family enables these OEMs to build next-generation enterprise gateways within significantly reduced development times, allowing them to respond more quickly to market demand.

“Rapid feature advancement and convergence of disparate applications have pushed manufacturers to turn to software ODMs for complete networking application software,” said Doug Makishima, vice president of marketing at Intoto. “Internal-grown software has become extremely resource-intensive and the use of public source code can lead to legal issues as well as requirements of placing value-added IP in the public domain. In contrast, Intoto’s solutions are completely turnkey, reliable and free of any open source encumbrances. With our iGateway EX software platforms and IntruPro intrusion prevention system, OEMs gain integrated, certified, and interoperable solutions that enable them to deliver cutting-edge enterprise networking equipment.”

Enterprise networking manufacturers continually face new feature integration and interoperability requirements. Their challenge is to support new and emerging applications and simultaneously minimize bandwidth costs, maximize efficiency, maximize performance, and minimize management and maintenance. Additionally, the convergence of voice, data, audio, and video services over a common network infrastructure adds another level of complexity to product development. Intoto’s iGateway EX family of products allow equipment manufacturers to effortlessly build and produce these high-end gateway devices that are cost-effective and feature-rich with security, voice, and wireless, while accelerating time-to-market.

Complete Enterprise Solutions

The iGateway EX is offered in three different platforms for SME and enterprise networking equipment. These comprehensive security, voice, and wireless solutions are ideally suited for enterprise security appliances, network gateways, and integrated access devices (IADs), and integrated communication platforms (ICPs).

iGateway EX SecureICP — Complete SME converged gateway software platform with basic networking protocols, wireless LAN security, ICSA-certified stateful inspection firewall, VoIP TA/proxy/gateway, and ICSA/VPNC-certified IPSec VPN

iGateway EX SecureSME — Complete SME security appliance software platform with basic networking protocols, wireless LAN security, ICSA-certified stateful inspection firewall, and ICSA/VPNC-certified IPSec VPN

iGateway EX SecureEnterprise — Complete enterprise security appliance software platform with basic networking protocols, ICSA-certified stateful inspection firewall, ICSA/VPNC-certified IPSec VPN, and high-availability capability

Similar to the iGateway RGS architecture (announced earlier today, August 23, 2004), the iGateway EX product family is also agnostic to hardware platforms, operating systems, and accelerators, providing the flexibility needed for customization and differentiation.

Additionally, Intoto offers a robust intrusion prevention system that elevates security for SMEs and enterprises. IntruPro™ (announced May 10, 2004) provides OEMs with a complete, enterprise-class intrusion prevention system including a sophisticated management portfolio, signature updates, and system certification.
