Indo American Forum hosts annual Diwali Gala

California: In a pageant colored by the performances of award-winning Bhangra Empire group from California, the Indo American Forum of Fort Bend hosted its seventh annual Diwali Gala at Safari Texas Ranch in the main ballroom. The event which featured guests like U.S. Rep. Pete Olson, Fort Bend County Commissioners Andy Meyers and James Patterson, started with an invocatory dance by Sanjana Jhaveri and lamp lighting by special guests, Pete and Nancy Olson. The program included a presentation of $10,000 cheque by IAF Chairman, Harish Jajoo to Child Advocates of Fort Bend and was applauded by about 500 guests. The key entertainment of the evening was the performances by Bhangra Empire and the performers gave two sizzling performances and thrilled the guests with their passionate and acrobatic moves. Indo American Forum has been iconic as the premier organization in Fort Bend area that represents the growing Indian community. The focus of IAF has been to encourage and promote participation in social, cultural and civic affairs to ensure a better future for the next generation of Indo-Americans. The gala which is conducted for the past six years saw a cross-section of the community as well as local guests and had a gorgeous ambience, fellowship and decorations.
