Indo-American Jai Chabria becomes Senior Adviser to Ohio Governor

Ohio: Jai Chabria, 33, Senior Adviser to Ohio Governor John Kasich, has become one of the most influential officials in the state. He stands out as one of the few Indians to reach that level in any administration. His duties include overseeing gubernatorial appointments and managing personnel for state agencies. Chabria also will work directly with the Ohio Department of Development as it transitions into JobsOhio. "Whatever duty is assigned to me, I'll try to fulfill it according to the best of my ability," says Chabria. Chabria didn't work with Kasich in his political campaign for Governor as an official, though he was involved as a volunteer. Before joining the administration, he worked at Schottenstein Property Group, in the Investment Banking Division at Lehman Brothers and later Barclays Capital. Kasich was a Managing Director in the investment division of Lehman Brothers. Both men worked there for seven years. Chabria has earned his Bachelor's degree from Ohio Wesleyan University visits India once in two years. He's married to Tammy Chabria, who owns and operates Jane's Montessori Academy, a private pre-school and kindergarten in Columbus, Ohio. They live with their daughter Arya in Powell, Ohio. His father Ramchand Chabria is a native of Ahmedabad, while mother Sobha is from Calicut, Kerela.
