Bangalore: Indians can boast about people who have made it big in the Hollywood scene. Sadly, for some actors like Mallika Sherawat, it was never really a destiny's call. There are a hand full of Indians who have made a niche for themselves and are well-accepted in Hollywood. Here are the names.
Deepa Mehta
Born in India, Deepa Mehta is a Genie Award-winning Canadian film director and screenwriter who made big hits through her Elements Trilogy, which includes Fire, Earth, and Water. She is the one who directed Bollywood/Hollywood that has received the Genie Award for Best Original Screenplay. She made her feature film directorial debut with Sam & Me in 1991 and it won honorable mention in the Camera diOr category of the 1991 Cannes Film Festival.
