Chennai:Major milestones of the Indian Space Research Organisation in 2010: January Launching sounding rockets to study annular solar eclipse. Successful testing of world's third largest solid propellant booster for GSLV Mark III. March Ice/water found on moon by Chandrayaan mission. Successful testing of advanced sounding rocket. Successful static testing of L110 liquid core engine for GSLV Mark III. Signing of agreement with Russia for production of satellite navigation system. April GSLV rocket powered by ISRO-made cryogenic engine falls into the sea with GSAT-4 satellite. June India and South Korea agree to explore possibilities for cooperation in space sector. July PSLV rocket launches Cartosat-2B satellite and four other small satellites; INSAT-4B performance curtailed by 50 percent due to power glitch. August Finalisation of payloads for Chandrayaan-II. September Static testing of L110 liquid core stage for GSLV Mark III. December GSLV rocket disintegrates within seconds after lift off.
