'Indian cos' valuation to rise in coming years'
New Delhi: Valuation of Indian companies would go up in the coming years, given significant strategic interest from domestic as well as overseas players to secure a chunk of business in the fast growing South Asian economy, investment bank Avendus Capital has said. "We believe that given India'slarge market size, growth potential and significant strategic interest the valuations in India will continue to be strong," Avendus Capital Pvt Ltd Director and Co-founder Gaurav Deepak told PTI. The domestic investment banking firm has recently hired Robert Davis, who was earlier head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) at Japanese investment bank major Nomura International Plc, to look into the deals between Indian and European companies. Avendus Capital feels that healthcare, industrial, consumer and IT are the sector that would witness major inbound deals in coming period.
