Indian Medical Students Flee Abroad Due to Scarcity of PG Seats

India has not focused on sharp training methods for students in the medical field which is the main reason why they are moving out to seek better education. Most Indian doctors with MBBS degrees are not well trained to treat deadly diseases that cause majority of the deaths.

According to a paper draft pulled out by MCI and AHPI, the number of post graduate seats can be can be increased from 14,500 to 38,500, and this can be quite easily achieved without making changes in any regulatory rules.

The Economic Times reports that there have been several cases of women dying during childbirth due to negligence in medical care. Approximately every 10 minutes, a woman loses her life because of lack of medical facilities.

In India, even though 62 percent of the diseases require treatment by specialist doctors, the scarcity of the same has turned out to be a major issue.
