NEW DELHI: Indian industry is mounting a second products show in Beijing from Wednesday to showcase its technological and manufacturing prowess and seek business opportunities in the booming Chinese market. Under the umbrella of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), several industry heads are participating in the second 'Made In India Show', to be held Dec 1-4. Sunil Kant Munjal, CII president, is heading the CEOs' delegation to China. A flagship event of CII, jointly organised with the Indian Embassy in China, "the show is significantly important considering the fact that bilateral trade between the two Asian giants is booming", CII said here Tuesday. India-China trade for the first three quarters of 2004 (Jan-Sept) reached $9.78 billion, up 83.5 percent over the same period last year, "nearly realising ahead of time the targeted $10 billion worth of trade envisaged by the leadership of the two countries for the entire year". The exhibition would showcase famous Indian brands, automobile, auto components, chemical, software, machine tool industry, petrochemicals, farm produce and processed food. Coinciding with the expo, business leaders will attend a seminar on India-China trade and investment cooperation.
