New Delhi: Bharti Airtel Monday announced a 39 percent reduction in its international long distance tariffs to the US and Canada.

Airtel mobile subscribers can call the US and Canada for 1.99 per minute. This offer would be available only on the Airtel STD and ISD calling card worth 2,245.

"Airtel as an industry leader has always been at the forefront of leading affordability, driving value and expanding the market. India is a global economic powerhouse today with business interests spanning boundaries," said Sanjay Gupta, chief marketing officer (mobile services), Bharti Airtel.

"With more and more Indians connecting with their friends, family and business associates across the world, it is imperative that international calling becomes more affordable," Gupta added.
