Chennai: India's IT industry forum National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) announced Thursday that its fifth annual human resource (HR) summit will be held here July 3-4. The summit, to be held on a theme of 'Managing Change', will focus on workforce related issues, and will address the wave of changes happening in the IT industry. Nasscom vice-president Sangeeta Gupta said: "Human resource is the foundation of the Indian IT-BPO industry and the advantageous position enjoyed by the Indian IT industry rests on the shoulders of its skilled human power." "However, at this growth curve, the industry is faced with a number of issues and growing concerns around workforce," she added. "This year's summit will work as a platform where the IT industry will deliberate issues affecting them, and listen to representatives from other industries that are based on human resources," Gupta said. The two-day event will see participation from over 500 delegates and 40 speakers from companies across the IT sector, industries like pharmaceuticals, senior academics, HR consultants and analysts.
