ISRO establishes ISITE

BANGALORE: To meet the new challenges in satellite capacity the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has established country’s largest ISRO satellite integration and test establishment (ISITE) at Bangalore. After inaugurating the world-class vernture, National Security adviser M.K. Narayanan said that he is fascinated by the capacity of ISRO’s facility. And pointed out that it will make tremendous development in space research. The 100-acre facility at the Marthahalli can test six satellites under one roof at a time and it highest ever in ISRO’s capacity so far. It gives world-class assembly, integration and test (AIT) complex. The AIT has an Electro static discharge (ESD) floor to drive away static charges from human body. The establishment is already prepared to integrate and test two satellites- Insat 4C, for which work commenced early this year.
