IBM signs IT services agreement with Nomura

Bangalore: IBM (NYSE: IBM) has announced that Nomura Services will implement IBM's end-to-end business continuity and resiliency services to bolster its business continuity, disaster and system failure response strategies. "We are excited about this relationship with Nomura Services. We are confident of helping Nomura make its operations resilient by leveraging IBM's global know-how in business continuity services as well as the domain expertise in the financial services industry," said Neeraj Sharma, Director, Integrated Technology Services, IBM India/South Asia. This multi-year IT services agreement will also provide Nomura Services with an in-city Work Area Recovery solution to recover critical business functions in the event of an interruption at a primary site. A comprehensive solution comprising backup offices through IBM's Work Area Recovery Center in the outskirts of Mumbai, and a backup technology capability center have been established by IBM to ensure Nomura the necessary level of business continuity should a disaster strike. IBM has been focusing on helping clients 'Do more with less' by engaging in operational expense (OPEX) model. IBM will use its 40 years of experience to provide end-to-end business continuity and resiliency services to help clients minimize the costs and time-frames associated with recovering business operations in the event of a disaster.
