IAF 'Women Air Warriors' Prove Their Mettle in Uttarakhand Rescue

She has completed 55 forays to and fro in her Cheetah helicopter to the Kedarnath valley and beyond.

Khushboo feels that the experience was quite challenging as she flew at 11,500 feet altitude which was not an easy one. She further stated that she was ready for such missions as it was how she was trained in the IAF.

Another IAF woman cadre who is also into the rescue operation at the flood stranded areas in Uttrakhand is Flight Lieutenant Tanya Srinivas. Though Tanya has only some –two and-a-half years of service as an "air warrior", she has flown to various places like deserts, plains and hills and it is  her zeal and guts that has brought her to this disaster stricken hill station for rescuing the people.

Srinivas took up this challenging task as it was the IAF that has given her the opportunity to extend help to the people especially in times of need and emergency. Khushboo and Tanya flew in their Cheetahs from Gauchar.
