PUNE: The U.S.-based business integration software company Tibco Software Inc and the Pune-based International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) has formed an academic partnership wherein Tibco would provide its business integration software to train the students. Announcing the tie-up, Tibco’s Senior Vice-President, worldwide marketing, Ram Menon said, “This collaborative academic program would help to address the industry wide shortage of skilled IT graduates through the inclusion of advanced software technology in the college curriculum.” Engineers from the Pune development center would provide practical hands-on training for the faculty of I2IT and it would offer its products, Tibco business works, and Tibco adapter for files, Tibco adapter for active database and Tibco adapters for SAP. Menon noted that this is the first of such academic partnership in the country, though it takes in interns to work on their summer projects from many institutions. He said Tibco was also looking at institutions in Bangalore and Hyderabad for such alliances but nothing had been decided upon.
