Huawei named Broadband Equipment Vendor of the year

Singapore: Huawei Technologies, a provider of telecommunications network solutions, has announced that it has been named Vendor of the Year and Broadband Equipment Vendor of the Year at the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards, for its outstanding performance in the region in 2007. "We are honored to receive these prestigious awards from Frost & Sullivan," said Victor Wang, President of Huawei Technologies Asia Pacific, "We would like to thank our customers for their strong support over the years and we will continue to focus on bringing innovative, customized solutions to operators throughout the region with the vision to enrich peoples' lives through communication." Frost & Sullivan industry manager Jay Tan said, "Huawei has firmly established itself as a leading global provider of wireless, fixed and next-generation network solutions in recent years. Its comprehensive product portfolio helps it provide end-to-end network solutions and the flexibility to offer customized solutions that promptly address customer requirements." "The company's growing influence in the market is underscored by its increasing traction among major service providers outside its home market - in other geographies across Asia Pacific, and even Europe," added Tan. In 2007, Huawei won many significant 3G/UMTS, NGN, broadband and optical contracts in Asia. In the mobile network field Huawei works with StarHub in Singapore, Optus in Australia, NZ Communications in New Zealand, EMOBIE in Japan, Reliance and TATA Indicom in India, Bharti Airtel and Mobitel in Sri Lanka, Telkom in Indonesia, Digitel in Philippines, and Camshin in Combodia.
