How to Deal With Tragedies

Bangalore: The world suddenly stops when life is encroached by tragedies. It is absolutely normal to get emotional when the news strikes you. Anger, Shock, denial, disbelief and depression are all expected reactions for any murder, assault or other tragic events. It is all about your relation with the situation. If you are personally attached to the incident/circumstance you tend to let life drown you with the emotional pain. It is better you cope with the feelings and start afresh. Here are a few tips on how to handle yourselves dealing with such circumstances – * Express yourself Relax; calm down when you hear the news. Take a deep breath and let it settle down properly. Do not hold back or resist your feelings; you want to burst into tears, go ahead. The more you control, the more it hurts. Go take a walk around a park/someplace calm, go for a jog or listen to some soothing music to keep your mind in control. Some people prefer writing it all out in a diary or by painting a picture. Do anything that would help you overcome your strong feelings.
