Hackers attack Lockheed Martin site

London: Hackers attacked the site of Lockheed Martin, a top American military weapons developer, but officials said no sensitive information was stolen during the raid. Lockheed Martin, which provides equipment for the U.S. and British armies, described the cyber attack as "significant and tenacious", The Sun reported. However, it said no sensitive information was stolen during the raid on its systems. There was no mention of any suspected source of the attack. "Lockheed Martin detected a significant and tenacious attack on its information systems network. As a result of the swift and deliberate actions taken to protect the network and increase IT security, our systems remain secure," a spokesman said. "No customer, programme or employee personal data has been compromised," he said. Lockheed Martin said it was keeping the U.S. government informed of the situation. The company employs about 126,000 people around the world. It designs, develops and manufactures some of the world's most advanced weapons. Its products include the Trident missile, P-3 Orion spy plane, F-16 and F-22 Raptor fighter jets and C-130 Hercules military cargo planes. The company is also reportedly designing a spacecraft to carry humans to space.
