HP, Oracle target mid-tier firms

Bangalore: With an aim of targetting mid sized businesses in India, technology firms Hewlett Packard (HP) and Oracle have extended their alliance. Delivering a single solution for the mid-sized businesses, HP will provide the hardware with Oracle's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application software under this alliance. Ashok Pamidi of HP India said they would be a single reference point for any SMBs looking at implementing any ERP solution. Pamidi was addressing press persons here on Thursday. The three-month-old alliance has notched up over 25 customers so far. The enterprise software market in India is estimated to be around $38.8 million and is expected to grow 16 percent CAGR till 2011. More over, the two companies would be leveraging upon their existing channel partners and system integrators in India to deliver this solution. The starting price for this integrated solution would be Rs 30 lakh ($75000). Pamidi said that HP and Oracle have covered over 18 cities across the country and is looking at touching another 18 cities soon to promote this new offering.
