BANGALORE: PC and server giant HP India will soon be moving out of its Golf View Campus at the Wind Tunnel road office in Bangalore to Hosur Road, before Electronic City. The Hosur- Sarjapur stretch is touted to be the IT corridor in the high-tech hub of India. "We would be moving to our new premises with in a couple of months," commented Vaibhav Phandis, Country Manager, Enterprise Systems Group. The company employs about 300 people in the country for marketing, sales and support apart from its software development and BPO operations. It also has a manufacturing facility in Bangalore. Pre merger to Compaq last year, HP was headquartered in Delhi, while Compaq operated out of Bangalore. Post merger, HP relocated its headquarters to Bangalore, continuing its digital imaging and personal systems group operations out of the Capital, while enterprise systems group and India Software Operations is based out of Bangalore. The company's BPO outfits would probably continue to operate out of the campus in Wind Tunnel Road as Phandis stressed only HP India will be moving out. HP is setting up its captive technical support center and also has a financial account transaction BPO outfit as a subsidiary of its European operations in Golf View Campus, which houses Texas Instruments and LG Soft, among other MNC companies. The IT corridor in Bangalore houses flag-bearers of the Indian software industry, Wipro, Infosys, Digital Global Soft, among others. Thanks to the almost finished fly-over, traffic is expected to smoothen over coming months making it easier to commute for the hundreds of IT professionals travelling in out of the corridor everyday.
