NEW DELHI: HCL Technologies Ltd today announced an agreement to join Power.org, the movement for accelerating collaborative innovation on the Power(tm) microprocessor technology.

Power.org promotes the IBM Power Architecture as the preferred open-standard hardware-development platform for electronic systems for consumer electronics, networking, storage, military and automotive markets.

Power.org partnership will enable HCL to closely align its design methodologies and IP with the needs of System-on-Chip (SoC) designs based on the Power Architecture and provide more extensive design services to customers desiring solutions based on the Power Architecture, HCL Tech said in a statement here.

HCL Tech Chairman and CEO Shiv Nadar said, ''The Power.org movement will allow us to dynamically influence this architecture and shorten our time to market with our design offerings and enhancements for various Power Architecture platforms.''
