HCL Infosystems Q4 revenue up 61%

NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems has announced a jump of 61 per cent in its revenue to Rs 1192.5 crore in the quarter ending March 2004 compared to the same period last year. Its profit before tax grew by 99 per cent to Rs 65.6 crore but profit after tax was almost flat at Rs 55.47 crore due to deferred taxes. The company also announced a third interim dividend of 60 per cent. "We saw robust growth in all segments. Traditionally government business brings in higher revenues in this quarter, but the home market was strong too. The sub-15,000 PC helped us enter into domains dominated by grey till now,'' says Ajai Chowdhry, chairman and CEO, HCL Infosystems. Revenue from the computer systems business is Rs 424.1 crore against Rs 339.3 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a growth of 25 per cent. Profit before interest and taxes is at Rs 40 crore against Rs 31.4 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a growth of 27 per cent. YTD revenue growth is 42 per cent. Revenue from the office automation and telecommunication business is Rs 764.0 crore as against Rs 391.4 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a growth of 95 per cent. Profit before interest and taxes are at Rs 23.7 crore as against Rs 12.2 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a growth of 95 per cent. The company has reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 1192.5 crore during the quarter ended March 31, 2004 as against Rs 738.6 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Profit before tax is reported at Rs 65.6 crore as against Rs 33.0 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a growth of 99 per cent. The company has reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 3091.5 crore and a profit after tax at Rs 129.3 crore during the nine months ended March 31, 2004, a growth of 121 per cent. Profit after tax for the year ended June 30, 2003 was Rs 92.7 crore. HCL has declared a third interim dividend of 60 per cent. During the first half two quarterly interim dividend of 30 per cent and 50 per cent were declared. For the year ended June 30, 2003 the company had declared a final dividend of 100 per cent.
