Mumbai: Google has announced availability of Google News for mobile devices in India. The move, according to the company, is in-sync with its objective of making mobile phones more and more useful for accessing relevant information while on the fly.

Here on, mobile phone users, irrespective of where they might be, can access the latest news from various sources right on their Web enabled devices. All they need to do is visit "News" under http://www.google.co.in/xhtml, and they would be directed to links and headlines for top News stories.

Google News is offered in several regional editions, so that users can scroll through the drop-down menu, and select the country edition of their preference simply by clicking "Go". Google News offers quick updates, plus the ability to scour varied categories such as Business, Science/Tech, Sports, Health, and Entertainment. In so doing, users can ultimately arrive at the news that matters most to them.

Besides, Google says only those sources whose content has been specifically designed to be able to be viewed on mobile devices, are displayed.
