California: California based video based social recruiting platform GetHired.com has been launched with $1.75 million in its seed round of funding from private angel networks. The company plans to use the funding to build out their engineering team and for marketing.

“VCs are interested in proven, scalable technologies that address universal problems. Hiring and employment is an issue that is a challenge across every country, in every industry. GetHired.com has received a significant level of interest from VCs because we have a proven technology that can save time and money for businesses across all time zones,” says Suki Shah, Co-Founder & CEO, GetHired.com.

The company expects demand for its products within any organization that wants to hire and estimates the number of unemployed people in U.S. at 13.1 million. It also estimates that more than 75 percent of employed individuals are passively looking for a better opportunity, thus the company anticipates a lot of traction. It has a specific focus on the six million small businesses in U.S.

“Major job boards and applicant tracking systems can often cost tens of thousands of dollars or more. GetHired.com offers more functionality at no cost; and dramatically improves the hiring process,” says Shah. He holds a Bachelor of Science from McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.

GetHired was co-founded in 2012 by Shah and Naresh Patel. It has 14 employees currently. The company emphasizes video resumes for highlighting ones personality. The site can be used by employers to streamline their hiring process by posting jobs, keeping track of applicants, screening candidates, and scheduling online interviews. They can record the answers to the pre-screening questions in the beginning of the hiring process, thereby simplifying the entire process. After posting a listing, the employers would get a link which can be used on other job sites. The site can be used by potential employees to post video resumes, search for jobs, and track the progress on an application.
