New Delhi: German construction major Hilti Corporation Thursday announced its plans to increase the headcount for its wholly-owned Indian subsidiary to over 1,000 and achieve a revenue target of 5 billion by 2011.

"This is one of the buoyant times in world economy and India is probably the best precedence which exemplifies this trend," said Pius Baschera, chairman, board of directors, Hilti Corporation as the company celebrated its 10th year in India.

Hilti India currently employs around 300 people across its five offices and 20 services centres. It is on the verge of achieving a turnover target of 1 billion, growing at more than 50 percent over the last two years.

"We are poised for the new level of growth trajectory in India and the key drivers of our growth has been our exceptional product offerings, highly motivated and skilled people," Hilti India president Mani Sehmi said.
