Facebook introduces new ad format 'Sponsored Stories'

Bangalore: Facebook has rolled out its new ad product, Sponsored Stories that allows advertisers to see the interactions a user's friends have with a brand. The new ad format turns your friends' actions into promoted content.
'Sponsored Stories' is the same type of content that appears in the main News Feed, now with brands visible with promotion to a placement on the right side of the page. It can be built around user interactions with a brand's applications, likes, location check-ins and page posts.
The social networking site has stated that the new ad form would not increase the ad load on the site but will displace the promotional copies of ad messages in favor of ads that report on user actions.
Many companies have already partnered with Facebook to advertize using the new ad form including Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Levi's and Playfish.
