Facebook Hires 21 Year Old IITian For Rs.65 Lakh A Year

Bangalore: A student from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is been hired by the social networking site Facebook for around 65 lakh salary per year.

Facebook recruited 21 year old Ankur Dahiya, a student of computer science engineering during the campus interview at the IIT, Delhi. The Facebook had come back this year, after trying and failing to recruit students from the institute last year.

Ankur Dahiya, who belongs to the Rohtak in Haryana told that ever since he heard Facebook would come to recruit, he wanted to get selected as it was a long standing dream and his parents were excited.

For the first time Facebook has recruited a student from IIT Delhi. It had recruited a student from IIT Chennai last year.

Facebook, which started its service in February 2004, has explored for talent at many of the IIT campuses this year in India. Facebook has started eyeing India as a talent hub this time as it had hired just to students from the country last year.

Ankur after finishing his course, he will be placed in Palo Alto, California as a programmer. Dahiya told that this interview and the test were completely subject based and the interviewers asked him to do some encoding and programming at the time of interview.

This time Facebook were around first batch of employers in the country.
