Facebook Finally Accepts Its Flaw, Removes Beheading Video

And on the video in question which the site has deleted, Facebook said, "People are sharing this video on Facebook to condemn it. If the video were being celebrated, or the actions in it encouraged, our approach would be different.”

The site, which is a place for more than 1 billion users, also added that with appropriate restrictive messages such as accompanying the video or image with a warning and sharing it with an age-appropriate audience, it would allow the video.

Facebook, just after the day of justifying about allowing the gore content on its site, has now accepted its flaw. The company has said that it did not reverse or change any policies as a result of the controversy, but that criticism of the video prompted it to be scrutinized more closely in the context of existing terms of service.

"Based on these enhanced standards, we have re-examined recent reports of graphic content and have concluded that this content improperly and irresponsibly glorifies violence. For this reason, we have removed it," the company said.
