Bangalore: A company in the energy and utility sector, Enzen Global Solutions, has developed an enterprise management software esGen, which is designed for the Indian power generation firms.

As reported by CXOtoday.com, the esGen software fully integrates and streamlines functions of business, operations and back-office. It automates the processes in finance and accounts, human resources and payroll, operations and maintenance (CMMS), project management, procurement management, inventory management, fuel Management, fly ash management and revenue management. In addition, the solution provides real-time data through reports and MIS with dashboards for select roles of the system and also Integration with the existing operations systems.

Madan Mohan, Vice President - Energy and Utilities, Power, Enzen Global Solutions told CXOtoday, "The software was developed in-house by our team of software developers and took about a year to roll it out. Even though a number of software companies including SAP claim to offer complete solutions to this sector, we understand the need of this sector better since we expertise in this field." The company has a software division with over 100 software engineers, and for esGen software a group of 50 engineers worked for almost a year. It is a generic product for the Indian utility sector and will make the software available in the market shortly, said Mohan.

The software is powered by Microsoft's Dynamics AX platform, built on open standards, and supports integration with several applications that will bring significant automation into power generation providing it a distinct competitive edge in the market, he said. As claimed, esGen can very easily be integrated with external applications like SCADA, GIS, DCS, and PLC, weighbridge system, condition monitoring systems many more in a real-time manner.

According to the company, the software enables the power generation company in forecasting fuel requirement, fuel procurement and track transportation of fuel and track transportation losses. esGen enables generation companies to account for revenue generated through sale of fly ash. Maintenance management module of esGen enables forecast, schedule and execute maintenance orders.
