ANDOVER: Enterasys Networks Inc. (NYSE:ETS) on Friday announced that it will move its headquarters to Andover, Massachusetts. The move positions Enterasys as the largest networking technology company headquartered in Massachusetts, the company claimed. The company chose to make this move to provide greater proximity to the technology advantages of the metropolitan Boston area and 128/93/495 corridors. The new headquarters will allow Enterasys to more easily recruit top talent from this region, and will provide Enterasys' global customer base easier access to headquarters due to its close position to Logan Airport. It also places senior management closer to the customer demonstration center located in Andover. "With their move to Andover, Enterasys has made a long-term commitment to bring jobs to the Commonwealth," stated Robert Pozen, Chief of Commerce and Labor. "I am confident that the combination of our hi-tech talent, Boston's standing as a premier academic center and the state's transportation infrastructure will be an important factor in their continued growth and success. I wish them the best of luck as they start a new era at their new location." "Without question, Massachusetts has been home to some of the greatest technological achievements of our time. Enterasys is proud to add to that legacy," said William K. O'Brien, Chief Executive Officer of Enterasys Networks. "We have spent the past year executing our goals to fundamentally improve our business and our competitive position. It is fitting that we begin a new era for Enterasys at the hub of East Coast technology." Enterasys has more than 1,600 employees worldwide, and currently employs approximately 350 at the Andover headquarters. The Rochester, N.H. operations will continue to remain an engineering-focused facility for the company.
