Bangalore: Sunil Rao, Head of Forum Nokia India, chose his topic as 'Enabling the Smart Lifestyle' to speak extensively on the strategy, devices and the developer ecosystem with the Forum Nokia. Looking at the fast growing mobile industry, Sunil distinguished a few dominant trends which are present in the mobile industry. He feels it's an era of unprecedented growth in Smartphones and an era of unprecedented mobile connectivity. The other trends as Sunil says is an era of unprecedented device convergence and adoption of apps. The smart lifestyle can be noted by analyzing the main five trends such as smartphones, internet connectivity, internet on mobile, convergence and mobile apps and contents. It is here he stressed on the point about 'living the smart life in India'. He also threw some light on the way we are experiencing the smart lifestyle and how Nokia ensuring it. Its through the variety of apps like Burrp which is a local search engine for restaurants, pubs, discotheques, bakeries etc, the smart lifestyle is experienced. Sunil also indicated that Burrp application will be available on N8 soon. Among the many amazing options, it has a hot key to order or book anything such as a movie ticket with Bookmyshow.com. The smart lifestyle is further enhanced with applications such as ShoZu, that creates technology to transfer content from the mobile phone directly to as many as 30 content sharing sites including YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, and Webshots. Embedding social networks into everyday mobile experience is the way with which Nokia provides the smart lifestyle pattern. Socially is another mobile app that utilizes the rich data emerging from your social networks to enrich your phone's Address Book, Calendar, CallerID, Idle screen and more. Nokia create the smart lifestyle through right strategy, right priorities, smart devices, smart software, smart channels and smart ecosystems. At Forum Nokia, one can expect many good things to happen. Sunil Rao feels that understanding end-to-end consumer experience has a great role to play in today's competitive market. "It's is not technology which is differentiator anymore. Understanding of facts, feelings, interactions and problems of consumers matter the most," he says. "At Form Nokia, we are looking for new business models which we want u guys to teach us," he told the developers present at the MAC event. Forum Nokia also funds developers with good ideas. He says Nokia is the world's largest local company because it has Forum Nokia present across the world, in multiple channels, multiple models and has open distribution. Answering to a question on the Ovi store and the global response to it, he said, "Ovi store is truly global. It is present in 180 countries, in 30 languages and has 3 million downloads daily. We started with 3.5 million downloads and its 5.5 million downloads in India currently, a combination of both free as well as paid in app store." Commenting on the recent developments and Nokia's smartphone market position, he said, "We are coming back. We have understood the market place much better. We have understood how to take the Chinese market and we have announced lot of dual SIM phones."
