BANGALORE: Storage networking firm Emulex plans to enhance its India research and development capabilities over the next two years. The company recent acquisition of Bangalore-based Aarohi Communications early this year in a $40-million deal had paved the way for the expansion plans. Aarohi is a supplier of intelligent data center networking components and software. Emulex’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Michael J. Rockenbach said that the company plans to triple its India research and development team to about 100 engineers in 2 years, while also investing between $10 and $15 million in expanding its operations here. Aarohi is a supplier of intelligent data center networking components and software and currently has a development team of 35 engineers in Bangalore. This will be of great help to Emulex’s plans of offloading more R&D work to its India development center. “Our next generation platform for embedded storage product group would be developed in Bangalore,” Rockenbach said.
