Dutch want to strengthen ties with India

MUMBAI/ PUNE: With the expansion of Service-businesses between India and Netherlands, Netherlands-based corporate houses have been strengthening their ties with India. In a meeting organized by the Maharatta Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MCCIA), Hans Ramker, Consul General for Netherlands said, “The possible business opportunities can be in agriculture, logistics, pharmaceuticals, entertainment and communication sector.” In 2005-06, investments from Indian companies in Netherlands grew to $244 million with trade between the countries at around $ 2 billion, said Ramker. Dutch multimedia companies were sourcing India’s design and printing skills and had partners in cities like Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Ramker stated that there were opportunities in making and processing movies. He further noted that India could use Netherlands a as a distribution base to connect with Europe and North America. Indian bulk-drug and pharmaceutical companies have a significant export-scope to Netherlands, he stated.
