New Delhi: The Japanese ad makers, Dentsu, are launching their third creative agency in India according to a report in The Economic Times. Dentsu Creative Impact will follow its Indian predecessors Dentsu Marcom and Dentsu Communications. The new agency will kick-off operations from New Delhi by January and will expand to Mumbai by the first quarter of 2007. Focusing on project-based rather than client-based creative work, unlike its previous two agencies in the country, this new creative outlet will and will also offer a gamut of designing and graphic services. They are looking at the runaway growth of organized retail sector, with specialized services such as logo design and shop window designs, something not currently serviced by big ad agencies in India. “Till now in the creative space in the country, in spite of us doing some great brand work, the limelight somehow has been hogged by the West-based agencies. With Dentsu Creative Impact we hope to change things,” said Dentsu India Chairman Sandeep Goyal. While Masahiro Fukada, a senior creative director from Dentsu Inc., Japan, will don the role of the Managing Director and report to Dentsu India’s group Vice-Chairman & Chief Creative Officer Gullu Sen, the company is still in talks with several creative duos at some big ad agencies to come onboard for its new venture. “Setting up a creative boutique in India is a thought through strategy for Dentsu as clients are looking for solutions and are also ready to pay a higher price. They are looking at someone who also can handhold them through execution of the creative idea,” said Goyal.
