Bangalore: Dell has launched ProSupport Mobility services for asset and data protection, as the company is eyeing a $3.2 billion opportunity in the Small and Medium Business (SMB) market. The suit protects the PC along with the data stored, helping the SMBs to run their business productively and profitably, informed Tim Griffin, Vice President, Global SMB services, Dell. He also informed that the company will continue to work with channel partners in the country as a part of their commitment to the SMB sector, which will enable them to provide service support to the customers. "Our channel services will allow SMB customers to have a single point of contact for their support requirements through their local channel supplier, increasing access and support choices while backed by Dell expertise," said Griffin. The services include Laptop Tracking and Recovery, which helps the companies to track and recover lost and stolen laptops. The Remote Data Delete enables customers to remotely delete important company data if a laptop is lost or stolen. The Hard Drive Data Recovery can retrieve information from a failed or damaged hard drive. The suit also has a feature of Certified Data Destruction, which destroys notebook data in a secure manner, providing certification of destruction and disposing of the customer's hard drive in an environmentally responsible manner. "Companies spend much time managing their PCs, servers and storage, we are out to change that with solutions that improve staff productivity, cut costs and ensure security of critical information," he said. "Channel services will be a great way for our partners to make money through an expanded portfolio beyond hardware, improve their margins and offer a differentiation to their customers using Dell proven technologies," he said. The global market is indicated at $350 billion, as the Indian market is indicated as a $3.2 billion market by AMI partners. The company has also announced to introduce ProManage and ProConsult in the country to offer SMBs on call support to remote network management. "We can meet individual customer's needs as these services are customisable," he said. The channel partners of Dell cover around 200 cities in India addressing the SMB market.
