Delhi clears seven projects worth $82.6 Mn

New Delhi: The delhi government Tuesday cleared seven energy and infrastructure development projects worth 3.47 billion ($82.6 million). Out of seven, four projects are related to public works department (PWD) and one each to power, land and building, and irrigation and flood control departments. "1.26 billion has been sanctioned for supply, erection, testing and commissioning with complete civil works with automation of 400/220/66 KV sub-station at Mundka," said state Finance Minister A.K. Walia. The projects were cleared in an expenditure finance committee (EFC) meeting, presided over by Walia. "The project has been approved with an aim to meet the increased power requirements in the areas of west Delhi as well as to provide supply to Delhi Metro Rail Corp (DMRC) for its extension route in west Delhi near Mundka and the industrial area being developed in Swarn Park, Udyog Nagar," Walia said. It will be executed on turnkey basis within 24 months from the date of award of work. The PWD proposal to construct railway over bridge (ROB) and road under bridge (RUB) at railway level crossing near Nand Nagri Delhi with an estimated cost of 1.07 billion also got the EFC nod. The project would be executed within 30 months after the award of tender. Walia added that the EFC has sanctioned an amount of 890 million for construction of a RUB at railway level crossing number 7 between Shalimar Bagh and Azadpur fruit mandi near Rajasthan Udyog Nagar. This project would be completed within 30 months after the award of work. EFC also approved 96.7 million for the widening of the eastern approach road of ISBT Bridge from three lanes to four lanes. The project would be completed within 21 months. The committee also gave nod to the construction of 1,300-metre service road along with eastern approach road with side drain and footpath on IT Park/DMRC/Shyam Giri Temple side with an estimated cost of 46.6 million. Walia stated that an amount of 74.6 million has been sanctioned for revamping Najafgarh drain from Amberahi bridge to Kakraula bridge.
