BANGALORE: Datacraft Asia, the leading IT solutions and services firm is folding up its network operating centre (NOC) in Asia to build a super NOC in India, which will cater to the needs of Asia Pacific region. Existing NOCs in Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Korea and New Zealand are being closed to create a major NOC in India, said William B G Padfield, chief executive officer, Datacraft Asia. The availability of technical manpower , comparatively low real estate cost and improved communication infrastructure in India are the prime motivators for setting up a central NOC in India, he said. NOC, as the name suggests, remotely monitors and diagnoses the health of a network. With IT infrastructure outsourcing beginning to rise, system integrators such as Datacraft use NOCs to manage the networks of their customers located across the globe. Indian IT companies like Wipro also offer NOC services to their customers and are banking on growing revenues from this business. Shrinking telecommunication costs and its increased resilience besides the growing technical talent pool makes India an attractive destination for NOCs, said analysts.
