MUMBAI: Datacraft has announced plans to expand into the application network solutions domain. As part of the strategy, it has launched a set of IP Telephony solutions and services that leverage Application Network architecture, the company announced in a press release Tuesday.

The solution will give customers access to their business systems from almost any type of handset with IP connectivity, as well as providing a variety of advanced communication and collaboration applications such as unified messaging and e-conferencing, the company claimed.

Datacraft’s plans for this fiscal year year include introduction of the Advanced Architecture Services, Customer Interactive Solutions besides their existing Infrastructure Solutions and Service Provider Industry Solutions. The IP telephony solutions and services are a part of its offerings in the Advanced Architecture Services segment, which in a phased manner will also cover IP convergence and Web Services eventually.

An application network is an integrated application and network infrastructure which leverages a range of open communication standards based on Internet Protocol (IP), XML and web services to make IT infrastructures more collaborative, intelligent and functional.

According to Dilip Kumar, Regional Director, India, Sub-continent, Datacraft, "The application network solutions markets in India is currently 20% of the network infrastructure market and is expected to reach 50% by 2005. Gartner has projected that network infrastructure will be one of the top 5 priorities of companies in the Asia Pacific till the end of next CY. Datacraft's IT Telephony solution set makes use of the company's proven project management methodology and integration framework to combine best-of-breed elements from its partners, with its own intellectual property."

The company has developed its own XML-based call authorisation & tracking suite of applications, built on Cisco IP telephony technology, that allows businesses to track and assign project-related expenses, control long distance usage and interface with back-end legacy systems.

Datacraft has also tied up with Latitude to offer e-conferencing solutions and NetIQ for VoIP management services. For its focused effort and strong capabilities in IP Telephony, Datacraft has achieved the IP Telephony Specialisation certification from Cisco Systems, which recognises partners for their expertise, experience and high customer satisfaction in designing and deploying large-scale Cisco IP Telephony solutions.
