DLF lines up huge investments in Bengal

Kolkata: Real estate major DLF Ltd has earmarked investments worth 317 billion in West Bengal. Apart from developing IT space in the Rajarhat new township area, the company will set up a 600-room hotel on the EM Bypass and develop an industrial township at Dankuni, said DLF Info City Developers (Kolkata) Ltd Managing Director Yogesh Verma. "The total investment for IT space development and the hotel has been earmarked at 17 billion. Another 300 billion will be invested for developing the industrial township at Dankuni," he said following the inauguration of IBM's fourth facility at DLF IT park at Rajarhat. The company has already completed the task of developing 1.3 million square ft as an IT park in Rajarhat. It will develop another 2.5 million square ft of IT space, which will be accorded special economic zone (SEZ) status in Action Area III in Rajarhat. "We have already obtained the required approvals for the IT SEZ from the central and state governments," Verma said. The hotel will come up over 600,000 square ft at EM Bypass. The Dankuni industrial township will be developed on 4,800 acres and allotment of land for the project starts next year, Verma said.
