SUNNYVALE, CA: Digital signal processing maker Cradle Technologies has appointed Satchit Jain as the senior vice president of hardware engineering.

In his new capacity, Jain will manage all VLSI silicon engineering at the company and lead the engineering effort to design the company's third generation of digital signal processors.

Before joining Cradle Technologies, Jain was the founder, president and chief executive of Teradiant Networks Inc., a packet processing and traffic management start-up.

Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Intel Corp. in various senior engineering and architect roles in microprocessor, mobile and handheld products, and the optical processor groups.

Jain said in a statement: "Cradle Technologies is an exciting place to be right now - the multimedia market is one of the fastest growing segments of the semiconductor industry, and Cradle is at the forefront of the trend toward multi-core system-on-a-chip technology with its advanced multiprocessor DSP products."
