Corruption in Politics: A Mockery of a Bureaucrat's Noble Task

This controversial suspension of the IAS officer Durga has sparked into an extraordinary nationwide protest where thousands of officers from the Central government services staged a protest against the unfair treatment meted out to a young, honest bureaucrat who had dared to take on the powerful sand mining mafia.

One of the officers said, "Her enforcement of law was apparently creating problems for the vested interests of the district which used the opportunity in a slimy and malicious manner and in the garb of creating communal tension got the officer illegally suspended. If one looks into the so called reason for suspension, it would be clear the officer is totally on the right side of the law," reported TOI.

The incident of Durga Nagpal has brought together all the countrymen under one roof to fight against criminality and corruption in politics.

India, in the last 66 years of Independence may not have developed as one of the world’s super powers in terms of economy growth but when it comes to money power and muscle power in Indian politics it has certainly grown manifolds.
