Car Of The Week: Renault Duster

Renault’s popular 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine powers both the diesel versions, with one tuned to 84bhp and the other to a powerful 108.5bhp. Both the engines are paired to six-speed manual transmission.

The low powered version, which is more apt for city use comes with a claimed mileage of 20.45 kmpl, whereas the 108.5bhp version at 19.01 kmpl.

Interior:

When we say SUV, the first thing that comes to mind is the enormous amount of space it offers. But considering other SUVs in the segment, Duster doesn’t feel as roomy from the inside. However, it is pretty decent and comfortable. The Five seater SUV’s cabin is solidly built and has a convenient high-driving position than others. With touch of chrome in the dash and good fabrics, the interior looks elegant. The rear seats have good back and thigh support and the front seats have got lumbar-support adjustment. But apart from some areas, the mediocre plastic finish is slightly disappointing. With the absence of a third row of seats, Duster has plenty of cargo space to offer.
